Default gator111 :: DDoS

gator111 is currently experiencing an extremely large DDoS attack which we're currently filtering. Customers may or may not experience problems with certain mail connections or high range passive FTP ports at this time and I'm working on rectifying that. Thanks for your patience.

The attack is being filtered with a high rate of success at this time and the server still seems to be handling traffic optimally. Please let us know if you see any issues. Thank you.

They replaced the standard apache config page and some general server 404 pages with those.

Not a good idea in my opinion

it is sleezy & gives a very bad impression as those pages look like typical spam pages or dodgy search engines

They look like the pages that Network Solutions some time back when you entered a domain that didn't have a page up. My ISP (Charter) also has a similar page. It doesn't bother me that much as it should rarely be seen. I can remember folks complaining about the default apache page as well.

Who cares... when do you ever see that page anyways, especially if you're on a shared server...

Howdy - just came on here after doing livechat support. Tyronne was very helpful, but said "There's no ETA on when it'll be back".

I immediately did angry customer "Oh, well I give you 24 hours before I quit, huff huff huff." He took it with great patience. I then came here and checked, and read the full info, and I'm happy to wait it out now, since I know it's not your fault.

Might be worthwhile to remember instead of saying "No ETA" to "It's reported on the network status page." That'll stop me being a grumpy git

So - sorry Tyronne. I bet you've got magic fingers that fixed it *grins*

The server actually just got another burst of excessive traffic and I'm firewalling off the hosts now.
