Default Gator 51 issues...

I am on Gator 51 (70.86.182.66)
All my sites load very slowly, its like loading them on a 56k line.
I check the status in cpanel. I think that the high cpu load is causing the slow page loads.
Here is a copy/paste

Chat support told me that 2-5 cpu load is average... i don't know about that, thats pretty high. Highest i have seen was around 4.3 or so.

cpsrvd up
pop up
httpd (1.3.37 (Unix)) up
mysql (4.1.21-standard) up
eximstats up
named up
exim (exim-4.63-1_cpanel_maildir) up
Server Load 2.53 (4 cpus)
Memory Used 53.8 %
Swap Used 7.80 %
Disk sda7 (/) 62 %
Disk sda1 (/boot) 47 %
Disk sda8 (/home) 95 %
Disk sda6 (/tmp) 3 %
Disk sda2 (/usr) 83 %
Disk sda3 (/var) 87 %

I hope this gets looked at

EDIT 1/21/07 @3:10am ET: This is getting worse as time goes on. Highest Server Load so far was 30.42

A CPU load of 2.53 is nothing for a 4 proc machine. My shared server(two procs) is on avg. at around 2, and things load quickly. Support is correct.

Keep in mind the scale of the shared servers. A 5 load, even an 8 load, those machine will fly. They aren't little machines.

If your pages are loading slowly, at 2 load, I would first make sure your pages are good. Then I would test the network.

It's still slow. I have tried from multiple places/connections.

www.sonikempire.com
www.sonikphoto.com

Look at the stats. It's ridiculous.
I don't want to switch hosts again.

The highest i have seen the cpu load hit was 12.54

The highest now is 15.76. Something must be bugging this server. Maybe some script on one of the sites?

Report it to live support and support@hostgator.com if you haven't already-- maybe there's a bad script running or something.

Have you told support yet instead of sitting there refreshing and telling us about it??

I'm having similar issues with performance and I'm on 51 as well. I'm just curious why my disk space is at 99%.

Disk sda1 (/boot)47 %Disk sda8 (/home)99 %Disk sda6 (/tmp)3 %Disk sda2 (/usr)86 %Disk sda3 (/var)88 %

Just got a reply back from support and they are aware of it.

We're working on replacing our older servers as quickly as the datacenter can get them built and put online for us. My personal estimate is that we'll have all servers upgraded to the new config within 3 months, however, this is an estimate - not a guarantee by any means.

I apologize for the problems you've been having. We're aware of the issues, and are working very quickly on getting these servers upgraded.

3 months seems like quite a long time...we shall see.

Capeweather--

You need to edit all the posts where you've copied and pasted the data from cPanel and remove the links to your cPanel. It's giving everybody else who tries to load the threads a pop-up asking for your cPanel username and password, because you copied the images in as well.

We found a client who was exeeding their quota by other 4x what they were allowed, which is why the /home partition was so full. The other partitions on the server mostly contain logs, and binaries.

I have not seen the laod very high on the gator51, but since this forum post was created I will make sure to keep an eye on it. We are upgrading servers to our new RAID10 setup, which have a lot faster CPU, and use DDR2 RAM. If the Chassis size of the new servers are the same as gator51, I might be able to get gator51 upgraded.

Thanks.

If the chassis is the same, it means they can upgrade the hardware right away, which would bump up everybody.

Goodbye gator, you had more than enough time to fix this issue after numerous support requests. But nobody cared, and nobody wanted to fix the issue. "Our technicians are working on the issue", yeah right.

I used to be happy with the service, but about 3 weeks ago it started to go downhill until it hit rock bottom.

My site has slowly been going down the tubes on Gator51 as well. Load times are ridiculous. 40 seconds to load my site compared to less than 2 seconds a few months ago. This is an issue that hostgator knows about and they refuse to fix it. I have been with them for 8 months and everything was fine until recently. I find myself submitting tickets 3-4 times a week now due to either my site being down or the ridiculous load times that not only effect myself but others as well. They obviously are not to worried about it because there has not been a fix or any type of resolution. The communication between the customer and support stinks and thats what really pis*es me off because they never seem to have an answer. They told me 3 months until an upgrade. If I told my customers in the medical field that it would take 3 months for a fix I would be fired. Well I'm about to fire Hostgator if nothing is done, and soon. If the communication was a little better I wouldn't sound so p***ed off but this is terrible. FIX THE PROBLEM ALREADY...........OR ATLEAST TELL US WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED.

I'm also on Gator 51 and am experiencing problems in addition to slow loading, the most serious of which was corruption of a couple of MySQL data bases associated with a phpBB forum.

This is NOT good.

I'm on Gator 51 too, and my vBulletin forum is sending me error reportings every minute -it can't connect to mysql- and the load time is growing every day. This is incredible!
