I am on gator 192, and I have a support ticket into support.. the problem is that httpd says "failed" in the control panel - and my site does not really load. It is php based, but it is a small site. I guess my question is, is anyone else on this server having issues or does your control panel also show httpd down?
I know support is working to get it fixed and I appreciate that of course, but I am wondering if this is an issue that comes up alot (on this server). thx |

Well, the httpd issue seems to be somewhat fixed, although it has gone out a few time for a few minutes. Now, there is some more problems. The main things being Sql and Ftpd is both down. Has anyone else had these problems, and if so what did you do? I'm sure I sound really impatient, and I am trying, but I am trying to make this site into something that can make me some money, and this is a critical time for it. All of the advertising I have done so and all.
I guess my question is, that if it keeps up, has anyone had any luck with getting their account moved to a more stable server? I really do not want to spend the money on a dedicated server (yet) because the site is just starting and dosent need it but maybe that is a viable option. thanks for any input. |

When you are sharing a server with hundreds of other users, it only takes a few sites (maybe even one) to hog the server's resources and bring it to a grinding halt. HG's shared hosting plans guarantee an uptime of 99.5% (Hatchling) to 99.9% (Baby, Swamp and Semi-Dedicated). That means your site should not be down for more than 216 minutes to 43 minutes respectively for a 30 day month. Is your site's uptime within this spec? You get what you pay for, and this is especially true for web hosting.
