Hi,
If i sign up to hostgator and gave you my ftp login name and password from my old hosting company could you transfer all the files directly over to my new hostgator account for me? This would save me downloading ~300MB from the old server and then uploading ~300MB to hostgator over dial-up!!! thanks a mill, Dermot |

Hello Dermot,
Sure we can move your site over for you. Just send the following information to sales@hostgator.com: -Your old hosting's FTP server with your username and password to log in. -Your username with Host Gator. If there's any other information you think we will need, please include this as well. Once we have this, we can begin to transfer your files. |

Just be careful, if your old site has a lot of files together in the same folder (think its over 2000) you wont be able to edit/rename/delete etc the files past this limt as HG has set a limit of display files - only host I know that does this.
You can use fileman to do this stuff but fileman is slow and sucks up resources - yours |
