Hi there, Im trying to do something I thought would be simple-Id like to create an FTP folder drop box where people can upload files, but not necessarily download them or look at the other stuff people have uploaded to it. whats the possibility of doing that through cpanel?
I also posted this on the shared server forum, but maybe this is better... Thanks ![]() Raphael |

if i wanted to do that, i'd use an upload script. some depends on how big the file sizes are, however, as to how practical that would be.
cpanel is the control panel for managing your own hosting account, not something you can (or would want) to give anyone else access to in order to upload files. you could also look at free filesharing services if the script didn't suit your needs, like rapidshare or something and let people submit the url to you? really depends on what you're trying to do as to how to go about it. aside: you'll also probably recieve more helpful responses in general if you avoid crossposting. i understand you had second thoughts about the forum you choose, but having the same thing posted in multiple places makes conversations harder to follow and less useful for those that follow you.
