Free International Calling with Residential Plans

Based on feedback from customers, we've enhanced our international calling options.

While some providers offer unlimited international calling, this is factored into their base pricing. As an example, with the Vonage World plan, you pay $24.95/Monthly compared to $8.25/Monthly with VOIPo. In order to save money, you'd typically need to have over 25 hours of international calls each month depending on where you call. Since the average customers that uses international calling only really makes a few quick international calls each month, we wanted to offer a more convenient option that will still allow significant savings.

As a result, we're excited to announce a new International Addon.

This addon gives you 60 minutes of free international calling each calendar month (select destinations only).

Tim I am considering this voipo service. I have one question.

In order to keep my phone number do I have to still keep paying Verizon some base fee for my number? In other words do I have to keep verizon as my phone provider for anything or can I dump them?

As long as we have coverage in your area, we can transfer the number in. When we do that, your Verizon account would be closed and you wouldn't need to keep paying them. It takes about 2 weeks. The most important thing though is not to cancel it until the transfer is completely done.

We send you an adapter and you connect it to your router, then plug your phones into it and use it as you normally would. Lots of other cool features though that you won't find at Verizon.

Right now my regular normal home phone number bill with verizon is $79 per month area code 978 outside of Boston

My cell service is 2 line plus a laptop card all at $130 per month, these are out of FL with an area code of 239.

My home Comcast cable which is blazing fast is $80 per month.

Then I have Direct TV at $55 per month... and the list goes on.... lol

It will be nice to dump the $79 per month which is $948 per year down to $99 per year with voipo.

That is quite a saving and I never make long distance calls (no social life) only work

I don't actually have a real "home phone" but I do use my iPhone in combination with Siphon and VOIPO when at the house and Wifi connected to make my "house" calls. Works GREAT the quality was very, very, impressive!

VOIPo is also great for people who call you from different countries. My family is all in Canada, I've got a VOIPo Canadian number that forwards to my US cell phone so they can call me for free.

I also recently set it up so I call them with a forwarded phone number, so I don't have to pay absurd amounts of money to call the family.

Now if BlackBerry has a SIP application it would be perfect.
