Default forum timeout

It would be useful if the forum took longer to time out, maybe an hour as if your developing you may be 30-40 minutes in another screen then you come back to the forum window and have to log in again

just a suggestion!

Why not just tick the "keep me logged in" box.

Call me CRAZY - Where the heck is this box? Is it right on this page & I don't see it?? On the page where I sign in, User name & Password - the only option I see is "Remember Me". Which BTW, never seems to work for me
THANKS!!

The box is called Remember Me. Not sure why it does not work for you. I use it on several computers (home and work) and it keeps me logged in. The only time I have had to log in again is when I clear my cookies.

I get frustrated with it kicking me out especially after reading some of the long winded replies.

Please extend the time out limit... The "remember me" box only remembers my password and does not keep me signed in.

I haven't "logged in" for ages and have no troubles. If you are clearing your cookies or other settings in your browser, that is what is causing you the troubles.

vBulletin seems to have at least two switches governing this: one called something like 'remember me' and one something like 'keep me logged in on this computer'. While the latter is an option at time of registration, it almost has to be accessible later, as well.

This ties in to what seem to be two different login scripts.

In any case, in addition to checking the "keep me logged in" box when you log in, you have to not log out. Either close the window or exit the browser, but either way, the next time you come back, you should be logged in (unless you cleaned the forum cookies in the interim).

Ya, this forum hasn't logged me out in ages, so I'd suspect something on your box is clearing cookies.
