Forum Changes

To make everything easier for everyone, and mostly myself, I have begun putting together a new plan to get the forums going more smoothly. Any comments or thoughts on this are of course appreciated!

All members will now be under one use group instead of HostGator Reseller, HostGator Shared, HostGator Dedicated. Users will be able to view all support forums non-dependant on there plan type. This will be great because alot of you in shared and reseller are very intelligent and could possibly help others in these forums even though you are not using the same plan.

Also in doing this we will be able to script in automatic account creation, when you signup with HostGator you will automatically have a forum account created based on your chosen username and password. I will also enable the option for you to change your name on the forum just incase you do not want that username being publically seen. This will only apply to NEW hostgator members! If you have an old forum account nothing will change.

This will eliminate the need for a moderation queue, saving us alot of time, as well as all the new customers that will not have to wait to join. Registration will be turned off on the forum, but guests will of course still be allowed to post in the non-private threads.

There will be some other great changes as well, but thats the basic idea of it.

All users are now under one group and can see all of the forums, automated creation will come next. Also we now have a title system instead of your plan as the title. So do not take these as being your plan, they are just for fun!

Prince/Princess is lower then King/Queen but why Queen if lower then King?
I think this is sexism !!

I understant that is hard to mantain but I miss the extra info the old titles gave about each other here. Now their info value is much lower....

Unfortunately its hard to do that now because you are all in one group, but I will take any suggestions on the titles. They are really just for fun and brainstormed up in a minute or two. They will most likely change.

Would it be possible to do more non-gender ranks? It is going to be kind of strange when it says Queen Croc under my username (I'm a male) when I hit 400 post, LOL.

Why not modify the "Queen and King" into one tier called "Royal" or "Noble Croc"?
