Even if it's allowed, depending on the traffic and the script, it may not work (could exceed CPU, connections, or bandwidth).

I got an answer from a support guy that it's allowed but it could be problems with cpu and stuff like that so i have a new question..how big is the chance that the processors actually will be overloaded? how many forums do i need, atleast?

I am using a very similar script at my forum hosting website (www.computalk.net)
I also contacted support and they said it was ok and I was to make sure that I didn't exceed the CPU etc. Since most of the forums people are hosting are small right now it has been no where near the limit and I don't think it will be for a while. One of the problems you might have is the MySQL connection limit. HostGator limits the number of similtaneous MySQL connections that a MySQL user or database can make. Each MySQL user and database is allowed to have 25 simultaneous connections, it seems low but it can actually support quite a large number of users. I don't know about that script but the one I am using put all the forums in the same database which could have caused problems with connection limits at peak times. Instead I modified the script so that it put forums in different databases. I changed it to put 20 forums in each database (each database with a different user). Since you can have unlimited MySQL databases and users it has been great but it required some heavy modifying and testing of the script.

Yeah but bear in mind that it will have the same problems as all other ones, the cpu and MySQL usage.
If it is using so much cpu it is going over then you either have a lot of users and need a VPS or dedicated or the script is just not practicle for resources. There is not much you can do about the CPU usage. The MySQL thing can be solved but only with some editting of the script and you need to know PHP and MySQL.

Don't want to go off topic too much, but I had a quick question. I know you can get multi forum scripts, but what about Joomla? Is there a script that I can buy that can host multiple Joomlas etc with one set of files?
Thanks.
