Tbird SMTP down. Load averages over 30...AGAIN! Sites loading very sloooooowwwwwwwwwwly. What's the excuse this time?
By the way, I emailed support with the last problem regarding awstats and got the same kind of canned response they always give ... 'Oh, everything seems to be fine here. It must be you, the customer, who is screwing up.' Do they even really, and I mean really, read the emails? Are you sure that you're not overloading your servers at our, the customers, expense? Averages just hit 40. Saw 'em at 45 just the other day. WHY? Duke Last edited by duke; 12-13-2005 at 11:54 AM. Reason: who cares |

I find it rather disconcerting that a post like this is left without a response for nearly (so far) an entire day. Did you try sending an e-mail to support with a simple message to update this thread?

This not the place to post server outages or intermittent problems as the forums are not regularly checked, please use the ticket, phone, or online chat system all 24/7 for this.

Hi justG,
Unfortunately, this kind of lame service is becoming the norm for Hostgator. We've been with them since October 2004 and have watched their once excellent quality go downward at an alarming rate. I would email support, but experience has taught me that it is a complete waste of time. Their canned answers make my blood boil. One of my friends left Hostgator after only one month. Her account was set up incorrectly and she couldn't get support to straighten it out. After numerous attempts, she did the smart thing and gave up. The infuriating thing, for me, was that I recommended Hostgator to her. Duke |

GatorJay,
The other day you told me not to get discouraged about emailing support. Well, I emailed them and got their usual pablum puke. Will you answer my question? Why are your load averages continually high? Duke |

MachineDog,
"looks to me like someone might be sending out large amounts of emails though." I've noticed the same problem with a lot of your servers. Can you locate the individual(s)? The bad effects on our sites, and I'm sure other's sites, is too frequent. My email to support was regarding awstats being down, not server load averages. I had problems with awstats and they were able to fix them quickly, but I signed up for Google Analytics (free) and it is so much better.
SMTP has been really slow recently and I am getting a lot of reports of the sites being down for a few minutes here or there. Support just tells me that everything is fine. as usual. They are hot and cold on support. Just when i get so frustrated I get a good support rep who is on the ball. |
