(note: this is my seconed try to get a message posted, I think the first one didn't take)
Hello guys, I'm shopping for a host and need a few questions answered. I'm looking at the Hatchling plan. I see that I have to pay a year in advance. If I decide I don't like your company for whatever reason in say 2 or 3 months, can I get the remainder of my money back? If so, How long will it take you to refund me after I ask for it? I've never had a web site before, so I'm sure I'll need a certain amount of hand holding in all phases of getting a site designed, up and running. So maybe Host gator will not be the place to learn as I go? For instance I don't know why FTP is important, along with most other things that are offered here. Is there a place here where first time web site builders go to learn as you go? |

Most things you will do with your site with cPanel, so check out the demo of it in the above link. These forums are also a great resource, with some very knowledgeable people here. As far as hand holding, you're not going to learn as much by asking questions and recieving direct, step by step instructions. You will learn so much more by researching your question, and finding the best solution to suit your needs. Reading and researching will help you the most. |

However, from http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml We offer 24/7/365 phone support, 99.9% uptime, and have a 30 day money back guarantee. After 30 days, you won't get anything back. If you think you might back out after a few months, I'd suggest going with the Baby plan, even though it's a few dollars more, it's better to pay by the month, instead of a full year... HG even says that themselves! |
