Positive First Impressions of Hostgater

Well firstly I will say I am based in the UK and train customer service supervisors at collage.

It has aways disgusted me that many involved in ecommerce, let it be a shop or service consider it is easy to ignore emails and requests for help and resort to the old fav, it's a computer error why we never got your email.. Computers dont make mistakes, they process information.

During my investigation stage looking at hostgater I read some reviews outside this site and it was a case of 70/30, some good, some bad. Then most of the bad refered to ceasing of accounts for "CPU" drawage or other drain of server facilities...

The total ceasing of accounts without warning does concern me, as I deal in ecommerce this sudden lose can result in $$$$ down the drain. But then I use scripts supplied by hostgater so if any of them do drain cpu power its their suppling such scripts.

May I surgest a temp ceasing pending rectification to them?


Anyway, I tested the on line support perfect in every way, fast response, and one CS agent followed up with a email with further info. Well done thats what I call CS.

I tested this for support and the agebt could not answer the query and surgested an email, np there

But no response to email! yet, This I worry about, but then the on line support is there if needed and my email request was not urgent.

So in my first week I have no regrets or miss givings about changing hosting companies, So far the support has been 1st class, if it was not I would leave fast.

The servers has been fast

Good information on web site covering a lot of topics, and in non jargon


if this keeps up I will be pleased, if not you see my name more here shouting....

Glad you had a good first impression! As for the email you sent, was it to support@hostgator.com and did you receive a ticket number back? You should always get a auto-response right back, or else it either A) Did not reach us. B) Was not able to auto-reply back to you, so was closed. or C)(rare) marked as spam. If you try again and get the auto-responder with your ticket number it will have gone through.

Its resolved Jay, Robin must have answered while i was transfering nameservers and mail accounts over to hostgater. I just checked the ticket and the response was there. This was my error for not checking tickets. We all learn
