A few questions about hosting

I am the webmaster for a family based small mail order business, nothing major but it has a good loyal customer base. I am unsure whether to go for the Baby Plan or the Business Plan. Can I ask some questions ? Thanks.

Q1. If I started on the Baby Plan is it easy to upgrade to the Business Plan sometime down the line ? How is it done ?

Q2. If I don't need the toll number, IP, and private SSL then is there any other reason to choose the Business package over the Baby one ? Is there any change in uptime or speed between the two ?

Hello Jon,

I'll answer your questions in order:

1) You can upgrade accounts at any time. A Baby to Business upgrade will reside on the same server and will require no effort on your part, other than asking for the upgrade. You can do so at any time via our upgrade form, found here:
https://secure.hostgator.com/upgrade.php

2) If you had a business account and didn't use the three things you mentioned, you'd essentially have a baby account. Business and Baby accounts are hosted on the same group of servers and really only differ in the number/ip/SSL details, and obviously price.

For what you're looking for I think a baby plan would be more than adequate. If at any time you wanted to move up, you could do so without much effort.
