Ok first and foremost i would like to say that "hate sites" are not illegal unless they promote "hate crimes" (at least in America)... i did a little research on it the subject after i got the replie, so does that mean that i can host a "hate site" due to the first amendment as it does not contain any promotion to "hate crimes"?
Also i heard something about needing a license to resell or host any sites? I was also curious about this. Thank you once again for your time and patience with me, i know im not an easy person to please, but in order to get what you want, you have to ask questions. Sincerely, LaMair S.Krow Also the link for the Hate Speech, Incitement to Violence and Racism on the Internet: Regulatory and Self-Regulatory Approaches is http://selfregulation.info/iapcoda/r...eur-020923.htm |

not true It's the internet anyone can sell anything. Heck you don't even pay taxes! Yes thats true. Problem is I don't know any hate sites that don't promote hate crimes. The one we shut down a day ago had thier message board filled with "kill them" chanting. No hate sites sorry.

As per your question on having to have a business license and paying taxes. That is something that you would need to talk to your tax professional about.
Most states do not require you to pay sales taxes on online businesses (not definate product) because it is hard to tell if it is crossing state lines or not. If you were selling a Car, you know the car is in the state that you are in. Servers are a bit different. Income Tax would still need to be filed, for anything that is made above and beyond your losses. As for business license. Each state/County/City has different regulations, BUT it might be worth it to look into a limited liabilty Corp (LLC), or a Incorperation to cover your personal assets incase your clients you are selling to try to sue you. Just remember, they can sue you even if you are in the right, they MIGHT even win.. (remember OJ and the 7 dancing Itos, Juries can be fickle).. If you are a sole propiortorship in most states or a non-licensed buisness, they can sue you for everything in the company, including your house, car, wife, 1st born etc. Please remember, I am not a laywer, a tax advisor NOR do I even come close to playing one on TV..(I have Been on TV though (G)..) Please re-affirm this information wiht the appropriatly experienced professionals.. |
