Default Fantastico-Wordpress

Is there a certain timeframe when the new updates for wordpress are posted in Fantastico?? Seems we get them months after Wordpress rolls them out. Why do I have problems on some blogs and not others, i.e. Plug-in activation/upgrade. One one of my blogs, I can do the auto-update with no problem, but on the other blog neither way will work, so I have to manually download plug-in, deactivate, delete and ftp the newest version of plugin. I have addressed this with Phone Support and basically told I did something wrong, it's kind of hard to mess up an auto-install of wordpress, therefore, seems to me it is a server and/or software issue on Hostgator's end. Especially when I'm getting SQL errors (headers already sent....)???

Fantastico is released by Netenberg, so you are at their mercy.

Netenberg has now updated Fantastico to Wordpress 2.8. Can you update the Hostgtor script?

It will likely be updated automatically based on the schedule set up on the server. If it is not updated in a day or two the best option would be to contact support by submitting a ticket and asking them to check on the update. These forums are primarily peer support. The admins would need to look at this issue.

Personally, I would consider installing WP manually. It is a very easy installation and once installed there is an automatic update option in the Dashboard.
