Hi All,
Im new here, first post and all. I have been a reseller for a couple of years thru a dif provider, and just recently opened an additional account here. I'm used to installing phpNuke manually, so the fantastico option is very cool to me, big time saver....but, I'm haveing an install issue on my sites, and i know its something stupid i'm missing, but if you don't ask, you just beat your head on the wall...lol. This is the setup prompt in the clients cPanel: Leave empty to install in the root directory of the domain (access example: http://domain/). Enter only the directory name to install in a directory (for http://domain/name/ enter name only). This directory SHOULD NOT exist, it will be automatically created! Now if i just go on from here i get this error: - You chose to install in the main directory of the domain phptest1.com, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain phptest1.com (path="/home/magic/public_html/").You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation: So its trying to install public_html, which already exists because of creating the account in WHM. So.... I tryed to name the file to put it in, public_html, and it just put another public_html in the public_html folder already on there. Help a dumb founded guy out will ya? Thnx. |

I had a similar problem with an install and when I eventually read each word on the page I saw that the existing file was the 'images' directory. (It took a few minutes to register between my eyes and my brain after I had uninstalled and the re-installed).
Worth double checking

Getting the same error while trying to Install Mambo. Strange thins is I have Installed Mambo from Fantastico twice here at HG and never had a problem like this before. I looked in the immages folder and there's nothing there. I latter I will delete and recreate account when I have time.

I had no images in the original folder (holding page was cleared down and images deleted) so I deleted the images folder. Did a new install and everything worked fine. I think fantastico does a quick check for folders and files with the same name as the ones it will install. If there is already a file then the installation aborts. I hope this helps
