Hi. I am new to this company, and so far I like it pretty much. But I do however have one problem, how do I go about installing the scripts in Fantastico? It tells me to read the readme file, but I do not see one. Can anyone tell 1. where it is? and 2. any step by step help would be greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Also, is it normal for (in the cpanel) the Bulletin Board and ScriptLibrary to be empty? My last company already had script in these folders for me to install. Is it because they are to be listed in the fantastico folder? |

the read me file is not avail till after you install the program though fantastico then just ftp to the directy that you installed the prog in and look for a README file.
And I think what your seeing is correct. Most everything you need as far as scripts and bbs show up in fantastico. hope that helps |

BigChuck - I hate to ask what may seem like a stupid question, but unfortunately I have to. Where or how do I go about installing the various scripts? I thought I activated them in the whm when I was editing the various features. Does this not automatically install them? If not: 1. Where do I get the scripts to install? 2. Is there any easy way of installing them? Sorry to seem a little on the slow side, my previous company already had the scripts installed, I as a reseller never had to install any of them personally.
Thanks for any and all of the help! |

well all the scripts should already be in fantastico. Now if you edited the feature pack in whm then you might have disabled something you shouldnt have.
You should be able to click on Fantastico from your cpanel and then click on what you want to install and just follow though the rest of the process... |

bigchuck,
I am not sure what I could have done to affect the setup of the features. All I did was creat a new features list. I sent an email to support, but have so far rcvd no response. Is this normal? Do you know how I could go about resetting it, so that I can install the scripts? Thanks again for your help, plus just being kind enough to respond. Thanks! |

Hi! I am considering opening a reseller account and would like to know what versions of Moodle, Drupal and WordPress could I use in your Fantastico Installation. Do you also have the Traditional Chinese module?
Sincerely, DC |

Moodle:v1.4.3 Drupal: v4.5.1 WordPress: v1.2.2 I'm not sure the Traditional Chinese module comes with the Fantastico installation but if not you can install it yourself afterwards (to install download the zip file to your moodle/lang directory and unzip it there). Stef. |

Many thanks for your kind reply. I need the latest version of Moodle and Drupal as I need to integrate my SCORM 2004 coursewares with them. I am planning to upgrade them and add Chinese modules when the fantastico installations are working. I hope your technical support people could help me get my applications up and running ASAP.
I have just submitted an order of an aluminium package for 6 months. Is there any way I could pay you by wire transmission or money order? I do not want to use my credit cards and I have not yet figured out how I could pay you through Paypal from my bank account in HK. Best regards, DC |

Hi!
I just signed up with you as a reseller and I am in the process of setting up things. One of the reasons I chose HostGator is because "Interchange shopping cart" is offered as a choice. I looked under Fantastico and I do not see it listed. Is that shopping cart setup differently? Also, can you point me to documentation on setting up secured pages (https://). Thank you! -=Victor=- |

Hi, I'm afraid you will not be able to use Interchange shopping cart. Please see this thread also. Please contact support@hostgator.com to get a confirmation. Quote:

I cannot access the thread you pointed to -- I receive an error that reads: vgascon, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:Any ideas why this is happening? Second, if the shopping cart is no longer available, why is it still being advertised in the resellers webpage? This is a considerable error and needs to be corrected to prevent misleading others. Thanks for your help -- I hope you can assist with the issue of my access to that thread; I would like to know more about that shopping cart. -=Victor=- |

Victor,

Most interesting in that thread is this link with info about issues with cPanel and Interchange (thanks amartins for the link). Quote:
If you opened an account at HostGator because you wanted to have the Interchange shopping cart and it's useless for you now, there will be no problem in getting your money back and terminating the account (there's the 30 day money back guarantee anyway). Send a mail to sales@hostgator.com if you want that. Our customers appreciate osCommerce a lot (see also this thread, when you can read it ). Maybe that shopping cart can satisfy your needs?Stef. |

Thanks for the response -- I understand better the reason why it is no longer available under HostGator. It is a shame -- but these things happen! ![]() Although that shopping cart was one of the reasons I originally decided to sign-up with HG, I am willing to give the other carts a try. I have worked with osCommerce once before and became frustrated with the effort of customizing the look and feel of the shopping cart. What should be simple things (changing the main logos, colors, etc.) appeared to be a time-consuming and confusing task. I am willing to read, learn, and try things -- although I cannot afford to spend days or weeks on something that should only take a few minutes. Other than the osCommerce website, do you have any references you could share on customising osCommerce? Again, thanks a lot for your help! -=Victor=- |

There's also http://www.oscommerce.info/ Some of our customers are running osCommerce. So you can ask questions in these forums too if you want. Maybe others can add some more references here... Stef. |
