Positive Extremly Happy with HostGator

I am now into my second month of hosting with HostGator and I must say that I am extremly happy with the service.

So far I personally have not seen my websites offline at all, although siteuptime.com tells me there have been 1 outage (but to be honest it was probably siteuptimes server that was offline as they're very slow at the minute) but 1 outage for a few minutes in the space of 1 and a half months is still extemly impressive.

I havn't had to ask a lot of support questions, but there was a problem with someone spamming using my hosting account. I emailed the support staff who told me that it was a problem with one of my scripts. They told me the exact scripts that could effect it and offered some solutions to stop this happening. So any time I've had to work with support it has been very efficent

So overall I could not be happier that I choose HostGator as my webhost. So long as this keep this great service as great as it is, I will be on here for years.

I thought I would give another little feedback since I have been using the HostGator package for a few months now.

I am still very impressed with HostGator and am actually in the process of upgrading my account to a reseller. I think this is definatly the best host I have ever found and well worth every penny spent.

I just want to let you guys know how it's all going on with my experiences with HostGator.

It's nearly been a year with hosting at HostGator.com and again I am still so extremely happy with the service they provide me. Still a year on and what I think is well over $100/$200 of payments and I wouldn't dream of hosting with any other company, no matter how good their prices seem.

My site still loads fast, even though it has been growing more and more the past few months, and my support tickets are answered with extremely helpful staff.

Just want to tell any of you guys thinking about signing up that even though you may hear the odd bad comment about these guys in the feedback center, make sure you listen to the good aswel. These guys are worth every cent (maybe even more but shuush!! :P) Greatest/best decision I made was hosting with them

Anyway good luck with your websites guys.

Well it's been a while since my last update so here goes.

As you probably know HostGator do not allow overselling on their reseller accounts, and this really is the only thing that I could ever slightly moan about, but I do understand why they do it.

But, with me wanting to be able to offer more hosting accounts on the one package I decided it was time to move away from HostGator and go with another hosting company which does offer overselling and a little bit more bandwidth/space. Leaving HostGator was the biggest mistake of my web life to date!

I had only ever used two paid hosts before, one which I got terrible support and decided to leave and join HostGator, and then the one I tried just there before switching back to HostGator, and I can honestly say I took HostGators support for granted.

First, the new host I was with had so many restrictions on it's reseller accounts (all of which you couldn't even pay extra to get removed, not that I would pay more to them anyway). Not only that when you asked them any questions it would take them hours (and I mean 10 or 12 hours) to reply on normal weekdays. You can't get ANY support on a Sunday. The attitude of the employees are pretty much "if you don't like us, we won't try and make you happy, just leave"

After about 2 months of this, they decided to start randomly banning my account because of too much activity on my WHM. Then after messing with my websites on a Sunday, after about 12 hours of slow support, they finally told me it was because there was too much activity on a reseller account and I am not allowed to host members of my forum for free.

So, why am I telling you all this? It's not because I'm fed up and want a rant It's because I just want to reinforce what I have been saying above. HostGator really is (in my eyes) the best host out there. I have never had a single thing go wrong that hasn't been fixable within a few support requests (generally any problem or request I have had is solved in 1/2 hours).

I am pleased to say I have reregistered with HostGator and am now hosting my sites with my favourite host once again. The no overselling I can live with, if it means my sites and myself get the support they need

Bottom Line:
I have learned from my mistakes. Even though there are hosts out there who try to offer more than HostGator, they much take extreme budget cuts in their support. HostGator HAVE the resources and staff to support what they offer, and when reliability is a must, HostGator won't let you down

Well I've been with HostGator since the 15th of October 2006, and just thought I'd give yet another update on things.

As always anytime I've had to ask any support questions I have been answered really quickly using their support tickets and their live chat a lot of the time.

I even used their phone number to call them personally today and the guy on the other end was very friendly and helpful, which again shows what great support they offer.

I will say however, last month I bought an SSL certificate from them which cost something like $100 I think, or something cheap around that, but for some reason they couldn't just take it out in the subscription from PayPal. Rather than sending me and email they just let this go on until my account was suspended and then forced me to pay a $10 late fee. I think this was unfair but as I'm not willing to go to any other host, I just have to pay it.

In my eyes it would have been nice to have an email saying they haven't received payment yet and then I could have done it manually.

But again, apart from that small little problem, HostGator is the best host I have ever and probably ever will be with. If your site is down or has a problem I know it will be fixed within a couple of hours with the great staff here.

Also the company has grown quite a lot in the past two years and it's great to see they are still providing the same fantastic support they where 2 years. Makes me feel save that as the company continues to grow they won't just forget about their customers.

Again 10 out of 10 to HostGator, but I wasn't happy with the $10 charge, but I guess it's not that much to pay for a great host!
