Hello,
I am Extremely NOT happy. I was in a chat trying to get an error fixed. The chat Tech was EXTREMELY Rude and Unhelpful. Even after I identified myself as a Law Enforcement Officer. They Then Said " No" and ended the chat. They wouldn't fix an error an agent fixed about 20 minutes prior. I think this person needs a wake-up call. This is the worst Customer service I have ever had!!!! I'm not going to refer my friends like I have been if this is the service I am getting. I had to repeat my question 3 times, just so he would understand it. It was clearly explained the first time. I would rate this experience about a 1.5/10 This is just un acceptable. I apologize I never updated this post, however I sent you an email as soon as I got in yesterday regarding this. You sent me an email back regarding this also, so you were contacted and I assure you we do care. Seeing as how I've dealt with you personally before I chose to send an email instead of posting in the forums.

Brad,
We've reviewed the chat and not found anything rude or unhelpful at all in this chat. You were looking for help in installing your 3rd party game service, you asked for us to open up port 8080. The agent opened up port 8080 for you as you requested. The panel was actually running on port 80, 8080 did not need to be opened as nothing was listening on that port. The agent then informed you that you would need to upload the files as a user and not root: (7:50:51 AM) Francisco: Is there anything else I may assist you with? (7:50:55 AM) Brad: Yea (7:50:56 AM) Brad: Change it (7:50:59 AM) Brad: likle the last person (7:51:24 AM) Francisco: No, I'm sorry, you will need to upload it as the cpanel user name. The agent could have changed the permissions at this point however, it being custom software the agent would not know if it would cause more problems if the permissions were changed. 3rd party software is not supported by HostGator and I believe the work that the agent did to help you even get the panel up goes above and beyond. Since you decided to post this in a public forum so everyone can see and have told me you would not remove this post then I must defend our customer service here at HostGator publicly. You've come into chat 50 times in the last 30 days stating you are a law enforcement officer from Wisconsin and being very rude to a lot of our agents. I have personally assisted you with multiple issues as they have been escalated to me. You have my personal email address and I have been in contact with you very frequently. We treat all our customers with respect regardless if they are in law enforcement or not. I've confirmed you are not in law enforcement at all, however you play an online game as a law enforcement officer. Regardless of that, coming into chat and thinking that stating you are a law enforcement officer is going to some how get you special treatment is ridiculous. I take great pride in our customer service and support here at HostGator. I believe we are the best web hosting company in the industry, and we strive to be leaps and bounds ahead of our competitors in terms of customer service and support.. That said, we welcome all valid future support concerns.
