Recently, I started having a problem identical to this thread:
http://forums.hostgator.com/slow-ser...ed-t56882.html. The site operates fine for 7-8 clicks, and then suddenly just hangs for 2-3 minutes on the next click. I contacted support and ever since I've felt like I've been part of a clown show. These guys are quick to respond, but their responses are basically of a "let-me-just-throw-the-ball-in-your-court" kind: Sorry, we can't reproduce the problem! Did you try???? All it takes is a few clicks. Is it your ISP? We can check your connection for you. No, the problem has been verified on different ISPs and workstations. Is it your local firewall or AntiVirus program? NO, it's not. People see it on different OSs. The problem is your site design! It uses absolute paths instead of relative for JS and CSS files and it triggers our firewall flood rules. Can you change that? I use a standard WordPress installation. I didn't create that on purpose. I cannot change this, but I'm sure neither can 500,000+ of your other Hostgator customers using the same platform for their site. I've had over a dozen of back-and-forth with their support and so far, all that they accomplished was spin the wheels. They have no clue how troubleshoot this issue, so they do their best to blame it on the user. My site is http://www.learncomputer.com. IP: 174.120.247.26. You can see it for yourself. Just click 10-12 times on random links and you will see the slowdown. I've asked repeatedly to speak with their supervisor, but they seem to just ignore my responses altogether and continue with their shpeal of finding problems on my end. I've asked to have my domain moved to another server. IGNORED. Every new message I get is from a different support rep. No wonder their left hand can't tell what the right one does. Interacting with these guys has been the most FRUSTRATING experience so far, let alone the problem itself has not been fixed!

I am happy to report that my site has finally
been moved to a different server. And what a difference that made! I've tested the site on two different ISPs and so far have not seen any signs of the hanging problem!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed. ![]() Though I am still somewhat bitter about this whole experience, I have to give Ryan (a Level II Linux Sysadmin) huge credit for getting this issue resolved! I appreciate everything you've done for me, Ryan, and I hope Hostgator keeps you happy, because they have plenty of reps who don't take their job as seriously as you do.
