Default To Europe customers: VPS vs reseller performances

I'm on reseller plan, and I'm happy, but my sites suffers from low speed performances. Both google and Yahoo sperd tests (and also users) experiment a lot of latency and time to load pages.
Most of my sites have Europe visitors, so the latency affects this.
I'm wondering if can I increase the performances upgrading to a VPS plan. Are there here some EU customers that already made this migration?
How do you feel about VPS vs reseller plan?
Kind Regards.

We can get you a dedicated server in our London data center. Send an email to sales and I can get you a quote.

It would be more expensive than shared hosting or VPS.

Unfortunately, we do not have any shared hosting/VPS there at this time.

Unless you have a really bad server, latency (a.k.a. "lag times") has more to do with your connection (routing, peering, pipelines, and network topology in general) that it does with your hosting account as such. In other words, your server's relative location on the topological map is the more important factor in that context.

@virtvir5
Ok, thank you for the info.
And what about the performances? I mean, not the latency, but the overall server speed?

That's very difficult to answer in any simple way. Hostgator's shared servers (which includes reseller accounts) tend to be their "heavy duty" hardware configurations for obvious reasons. Their VPS boxes perhaps somewhat less so, but also (maybe) subject to lesser loading on average. The chief attraction of the latter has more to do with compartmentalization and control than with any major performance advantage, if any. See server specs here.

With a dedicated server, of course, your get to choose your own hardware within whatever limits of availability may apply at your chosen server farm location.
