The error pages that I created via cPanel are no longer displaying. Now when a user requests an invalid URL they get an error page that advertises HostGator.com instead of the one I set up for the awes.com domain. How do I fix this?

The one that states to enter it in your .htaccess. which I don't see in that thread
Add this to your .htaccess if it is a shtml doc Code:
ErrorDocument 404 /page.shtml
