The entire internet having hiccups! 2/23/04

This is hostgator or datacenter problem. There is currently a known global incident on the internet which resulted from an ISP in Spain leaking a default route to Global Crossings. The repurcussions of this are currently being felt all over the internet, and there is nothing we can do at this time but wait. Some networks have been depeered or disconnected and thus you will see sporadic issues and routing anomolies.

If you look at the graphs of a variety of other carriers (for instance, EV1servers.net) you will find that they experienced massive drops in utilization at the same time we did, as a result of this global issue.

We continue to monitor this situation and will attempt to update our customers once we have verified information from the respective carriers.
