Unfortunately there were some issues with this system that were causing /home to not mount correctly. At this time there is not an ETA to when this issue will be resolved, however we are currently in the process of addressing this. I apologize about the inconvenience.

I moved from another hosting company to Hostgator last Saturday because of their awful service, downtimes, no backups, etc. I can't believe this.

You can't believe that with over 1000 servers, there might be a problem with one of them from time to time?

Most of us experience virtually no downtime at all, and there's an uptime guarantee in place, one with some real meaning (i.e., you actually get some free hosting if they don't meet the target).

When it comes to backups, you are responsible for backing up your own stuff. HG maintains some backups in case of disaster, but that's no substitute for taking care of your own stuff. Never rely on someone else to keep backup copies of your site files.

Ha! I was just working on a brand new site, had just gotten 3 pages up when the whole thing went *poof*!
No time for a backup, but then I haven't lost much either!

This is the first time I have EVER had a problem with a Hostgator server, so naturally I assumed it was something I had screwed up

Have you lost something? Because my site is now as It should be (even with the files I uploaded yesterday so I guess there was not necessary to restore a backup).
