Hi,
Plenty of our automated services here use PHP to send email. In order to send email, we use a centralised PHP Mailer class (http://phpmailer.codeworxtech.com/) to keep things neat, tidy and above all, in line with current best practice (well formed headers, etc). Our mail server (all our servers route through one SMTP server) has all the correct settings. Reverse DNS/PTR records in place, SPF framework set up within the DNS itself, properly configured Sendmail as the MTA... the usual stuff. When sending mail via PHP, it correctly arrives at accounts on Hotmail (traditionally the hardest to get things working with), GMail, Yahoo! Mail, our corporate mail (we use Notes)... indeed, everything we can think of but when I send mail using this system to my HG hosted address, nothing arrives... ever. SpamAssassin and BoxTrapper are both disabled. There does not appear to be any way of establishing what is occurring because there is no trace of the email and there are no logs that I can find. Anyone got any thoughts? Cheers |

Is this PHP mailer class running on the same HG box as where you're expecting the mail to be?

The MTA etc. is located on our corporate platform external to HG (indeed, hosted in the UK). I use my HG email account as one of many when testing the automatic sending of mail, and its that account that never gets it. The logs clearly show that our MTA talked successfully to HG, and at that point, the mail vanishes. |

Corporate MTA sends mail from @domain.com - to every single address you can think of, including Hotmail* However, when that MTA sends an email to my_personal_address@hg_hosted_domain.com, it never arrives. MTA logs clearly show the handoff occurring successfully, but it never turns up in my inbox. Does anyone know if it is possible to get access to the actual raw mail logs on an HG shared hosting account? *If you get your stuff sent to Hotmail and it appears in the user's inbox and not junk folder, your server has attained the Holy Grail of Configuration. |

Contact HG via a support ticket with the full information, email id. etc. for some of the missing emails and I am sure they can help. You would not get access to the mail logs for a shared or reseller server though. If the messages are being blocked then I am sure they can find a solution.

Yes-- if you give them the message ID number from the logs it will make it easier for them to track it.
