email limits

Is there a limit on the amont ofr email that can be sent from an account. My current hosts limits it to 100 email an hour, I have a mailing list of few hundred and its a paint to have to spread the sending out over 4 hours

You will be fine. The only email restriction we have in place states that any mailing list must not contain more than 5,000 addresses w/o prior approval from HostGator.

I'm going to chime in on this one. The fact that there isn't an arbitrary limit on emails was one of the biggest reasons I switched to HG. My previous host (which was outstanding as well) put a limit of 200 per day. One of the sites I'm developing will be emailing forgotten passwords to users and it would have been very bad news if they got locked out b/c too many others had already forgotten their passwords that day.

So, if I had found a limit I would have kept looking for another host; but fortunately I've stopped here.

But there IS a limit. After 200 in an hour, they are silently dropped.
