Hi
I've been reading about the 200 out mails per hour limit and the 60 pop connections per hour limit. Does this apply to the whole hosting account? In case I host 10 domains with a total of about 50 pop accounts. Each of these accounts connecting twice an hour: Will this be a problem? Similarly for smtp 4 mails per account per hour...? Another issue of concern to me would be the way internal mails are treated. Are internal mails within the domain also counted in the above limits? |

The way I understand it, all mail is counted. So no single domain could not send out more than 200 emails per hour. It doesn't matter where they are going. The actual parameter says "The maximum each domain can send out per hour (0 is unlimited):" That means that if a domain has 100 users, then they would be limited to 200 email for those 100 users. I everyone started sending mail, at the same time, they would get 2 each before the domain maxed out. Mail over the quota is dropped! Connections are by POP3 user, so a 100 user domain could still hit the sever 6000 times per hour and be cool. Clearly, the 200 emails per hour limit is based on smaller domains. Larger domains, such as an account with 100 active emailers, would be better on a larger (and unlimited) semi-dedicated server. |
