Email Forwarding Not Working Again-urgent Please

Yesterday I was given advice to set up email forwarding while my account was being transferred from a free hosting space to Hostgator. It worked fine after I did it for the rest of the day, but now its not working again. It looks fine in Cpanel, and I cant see any reason it wont work. I am loosing work over this - please can any suggest what might be wrong? Also I tried webmails ervices and nothing working there anymore either. (Ps I set up my new hostgator DNS last Thursday night and the domain name is working fine, so the email and email forwarding should be working by now presumably?) Thanks anyone can help, very urgent.

I seem to have my webmail partly working at last, messages sent to my name@mydomain.com are working, but all messages sent out dont get bouned back.

Also the forwarding is still not working on my email account to another free email account.
Going to stop now for a bit , been long day, any help appreciated!
