Default Email forms and MySql Db

I need to set up a contact form page that will automatically send submitted form data directly to an existing MySql database, in addition to sending me the email.

Is FormMail the most versatile way to do this, even though it's available fields are limited? If so, how do I set it up? If not, what's the better way?

All suggestions are welcome,
Thanks!!

Formmail basically sucks. You would be better off doing what the rest of us have done and buy "Forms to Go". It will allow you to make PHP forms that send data to mySQL database. It is cheap and easy to use and I highly recommend it.

I recommend learning to code it yourself, then you can sell it.

Yea, I STRONGLY recommend that coders NOT waste their time coding it themselves. I could code it myself, by hand, without notes, BUT I'm not about to go to all of that trouble when I can generate a script in about two minutes that does everything I want it to do. I had been coding them myself and I wondered why it took so long and why there wasn't something that would just do it for me. Well, FTG is the answer.

Plus, if someone is clueless on exactly how to code it or wants to make heavy modifications to the code, then FTG is a great place to start. I normally generate my code and then made any needed edits (though FTG does so much that I really don't need to).

I did a google search and found this URL. I just want to be sure this is the site you are talking about. Is this the correct URL to "Forms to Go" you are mentioning?

http://www.bebosoft.com/products/formstogo/

Thumbs up Re: Email forms and MySql Db

Thanks Serra!

FTG looks perfect for incoming data, once I correctly set up and configure all the components. Can you also suggest an inexpensive email list manager (for use with the same MySql Db) that's as solid and easy to use as FTG?

I'm happy to learn by trial/error, but again, anyone's suggestions regarding a good place to start save me a lot of time and wasted effort, and so are welcome and appreciated!
