So I am thinking of upgrading my account here at hostgator to a reseller account, and this question would probably apply to any account here.
Does hostgator have anything in place to help prevent some spam email from coming through their servers at all? Or is this left up to each account holder to set up? The host I am migrating away from has some pretty strong email filters that prevent some of it from coming through, then I have to try to keep out the rest . One way I do keep out a lot is to not have the catch all email turned on!Thanks, Robin |

When you get enough business to move up to a dedicated box, you can install MailScanner. That is the best possible way to prevent spam. My clients don't have to change any settings, things just work.

).So far I engaged Spam Assassin, and for filters I am putting in every possible nasty word I can think of, and ones I see in message headers that get through to my Yahoo bulk mail. So will see how it goes. This probably isn't much of a learning curve for most here, but it sure is to me....but I enjoy it so much!! I really appreciate how helpful you are. Robin |
