Does anyone know of a script or program that will have a form or email sent directly to a customers fax machine?

Thanks for your help.

I've never personally seen a script or form that would do that, and I do believe it could be a fraud risk since it could most likely be spammed to a clients fax .

The closest I know of email to fax (Without direct knowledge of any form capability) would be to visit sites like j2.com or efax.com which provide you a fax number. They support email to fax from your pc, perhaps they can help you find the solution to automate that.

It isn't really possible to send a form to a fax machine. Emails can be sent to a fax machine, but this is done locally, not at the server.

Sounds like a better solution is to create a PDF and have the customer fax it back. Plus with Fax spam laws, sending faxes can be a little dangerous.

Didn't think there were spam laws these days, we get alot coming in through our fax. Anyway, this just wouldn't be possible with a simple script, maybe if you had something that would interface with the phone port (if the server had one) which would need to probablly be made with some sort of higher programming language. Which means it wouldn't be possible anyway since you'd need to have atleast an SSH access to the server.

There is a huge anti fax spam law that just started in 2005. $1,500 per violation! Check http://www.keytlaw.com/faxes/47usc227.htm

If you don't take it seriously, check this article on how to punish people who fax you:

Yes, plus you'd have to have a way to create a fax and dail. Then the server would need to have access to either a fax server or a fax modem/phone line.

All of this is simply impossible on a leased box. For about $8,000 you can set this up for an office.

setup an account at http://greenfax.com

then the phone number you want to fax within your form is the 'to:' field...then your client can get a copy of thier web form delivered via fax.

GreenFax.com Send-Only Service Perfect for users who need only to send faxes and not receive. Our Send-Only service plan is like a 'prepaid phone card for internet faxing'. Pricing is 7 cents per minute to send faxes to US and Canada. Billing is in six-second increments, with a one-minute minimum per fax transmission. You pay only for successful transmissions. Prepaid credit towards outbound faxing is purchased in $25.00 increments. One time setup-charge: $10.00. There is no monthly service charge, unused credit never expires.

I have seen a nice option at www.hostndomains.com, it is called "Fax Thru Email" and it lets you send and receive faxes from any computer. They said all you need is an Internet connection and email.

They have a very inexpensive option like 100 minutes a month for us$9.95 if you use a regular phone number or us$14.95 if you use a Toll Free number. It says that you can choose to be asigned a Phone number from Arizona or a Toll Free number.

The best of it, is that it seems that you donīt need to pay any setup at all.

Regards,
- Sergio
