Default Email and Dedicated Servers

I've been looking at several threads in the support forum regarding email lists and the need to 'throttle' your email. I couldn't tell if the threads were from shared accounts or dedicated accounts.
If one were to opt into a dedicated server account, does that change the email rules - # of emails /minute / hour? i.e. do dedicated servers also have a dedicate mail server, or is ALL email run through the same mail server for Hostgator?
Thanks

Every dedicated server, as well as every other HG server, has a mail server running in the server.
And if you run the dedicated server you set the limits.

The dedicated (and reseller) server have the throttle set by HG as quietFinn said.
From time to time I run in a "to many concurrent SMTP connections" error.
My mail client send this few min's later without problems.
If this can clarify...

i think what he want is to know any limit in dedicated server email sending.
guess it will be better to write an email to support and get confirmation.

Let me add to that... if you run the dedicated server then YOU MUST set the limits YOURSELF.

Dedicated servers come out of the box wide open for spamming. It is a good idea to set these settings asap.

Thanks everyone! Your comments clarified a number of issues for me - there seemed to be some "contradictions" with some of the other threads on this topic.
Thanks Again!!
