Eclipse Server Issues

Currently(Oct 28 11:20 AM EST) my server which is on Eclispse has a load of 10.58 and imap has failed. The IM guys aren't providing a whole lot of info besides "Admins are working on it", Can somebody let me know what's really going on?

Now the server load is at 15.27 and both imap and cppop have failed

Confirmed. Unable to pickup mail, sites going up & down, "connection refused" messages. Here we go again.

The server was attacked via massive amounts of spam this morning but we have it under control now. We rebooted it after the first attack and then you will notice other services being restarted as we update them to block the attack. In the future please email support@hostgator.com for a status, IM techs will not know the details right away as our admins handle this.

Is there going to be any retribution for the spammers? Seems like lawsuits are now available to get this stopped.

The email server and web server are on the same box? Is this such a good idea with the amounts of spam that people get everyday?

It's Oct 28th 4:12 PM, and my entire suite of sites is down again today. What's going on?

Yep, all sites down again on eclipse. There has got to be a lasting solution to this ongoing problem.
