Hi,
I plan to set up a drupal based SNS site with business plan, and the following questions: 1) How much memory can I use with this plan, since I have some memory intensity drupal modules installed. 2) How easy is it to migrate to a VPS plan in the future ? 3) I assume that business plan should be able to handle a resource intensive drupal based SNS site with very few audience, say less than 20 users. Am I right about it? The reason I do not want to jump to VPS solution is that, I am not sure how many audience it will have, and it is of the same reason that I concern about the migration in the future. Thanks. |

I am not so familiar with the memory it can be use in the plan. But thinking before migrating is a great character of a businessman. Great job that you are thinking of your audience first, it would give you a great privilege. Great business

It depends on different factors, the most important being the amount of traffic expected. For a few hundred visitors, 64 M of memory in php.ini file should be enough for Drupal 6 website.
For Drupal 7, the memory should be raised significantly. For a large amount of traffic, you should use a VPS or dedicated server as even Drupal 6 will eat up server resources on shared account. |
