This has been completed. However, the raid card replacement is tentatively scheduled for tomorrow, 10/27/09.

I thought you guys were going to try and give resellers at least 24-hour notice of any scheduled maintenance? After VOLT having been hammered for half the day, I came back after dinner only to find it totally down or basically unusable while the drive swap takes place. Am I the only one b****ing about rarely getting any kind of notice (sorry, 2 hours and 12 minutes is NOT notice unless it comes via email) of scheduled maintenance? I can't serve my customers properly if you guys don't give me a chance.

We are now mitigating the load issue on volt. The reasoning behind the load is that the raid array is rebuilding thus causing high I/O and higher load. I agree that giving an extended notice is convenient, but unfortunately, we had to bring this box down as soon as we could to replace a failing drive along with possible defective cables. There are many catastrophic issues that we prevented by just bringing the box down for 20~ minutes to replace the needed hardware. We are sincerely sorry for bringing this box down abruptly, but it was imperative for the safety of the server. Thank you for your patience with us.

At this time, we are resuming the rebuild of the raid array which is currently at 84%. We are aware of the various issues that are being caused by this occurring. However, we cannot risk a drive failing in the array and causing any kind of data loss. We ask for your continued patience as we try to get the raid rebuilt as fast as possible.
