If you are trying to connect to your HG server from your local computer then you should use either your IP address or your domain name as the MySQL server rather than localhost. You would use localhost to connect to the database directly from the server itself in a script.

Hey, I know this thread is a bit dated, but it hasn't helped me thus far, hoping someone can shed some light on my issues. I am getting this errer:
"HTTP Error Code 404 File Not Found. Here are the possible reasons for this problem: 1) There is no testing server running on the server machine. 2) the testing server specified for this site does not map to the http://mydomain.com/_mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Verify that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- mysql: www.my-domian.com username is: databaseusername_databasename password: is databaseusernamepassword I have the remote server also be testing server, I have tried using my testing server locally, and that didn't work either. For my server settings in site definitions I have ftp addy: ftp.my-domain.com Root dir: /public_html/ web url: http://www.my-domain.com/public_html test passes In cpanel, I have added my isp provided with %.triad.rr.com to allow remote connections for mysql. This is killing me.!!!!! |
