I have a website on another host that I am moveing over here, but I am only half way setup and I have an issue the site on the old host has become the target of a dos attack from an online greafing group the patriotic nigras from LindenLab servers, and I am wondering how I can deal with this situation.
It started as a basic blog and I am of a sub culture and I reported and posted one factual article with a little funny side about there leader haveing stress issues and him standing down, this was part repost from there own website were he posted his own words. Now the other host has mitigated the attack but I am unsure of Hostgators policys on sites that get dos attacked, I would like to continue and leave the article as is because freespeach has always been for everyone. And this group clames to be for freespeach and yet its only there freespeach they allow. I wont be inflameing the situation, because his own words have been seem more on his own website than on mine. I just have to be sure that when I complete the move over I know were to report problems, so that I can continue to have my websites hosted.

I should probaly say, they wont ever stop even removeing the article would make little diffrence because this would give them more ammo to carry on so its one of thoes situations were.
free speach is either shut down, or I find a host thats willing to deal with a little trouble. |

The problem with shared hosting is that if any site on the server is attacked then it affects all sites on the server. HG is pretty good at working to control DDoS attacks but if the attacks continue they have no option but to remove the account being attacked.

The guy contacted me with a throw away account, and threaten me and then ramped up the dos attack from LindenLabs servers.
Finaly contacted in world Linden, they then phoned me and now are shutting the dos down. But im still stuck with were to point the domain as if I move it here its an attack if I do and if I leave it I lose my site, and if I dont move it somewere its still dos attacking the old server if they do it again. The inworld guy would not black list the ip to my new server on Gator Host, which would have solved the problem its not likely someone would want to view another website hosted on the same server as me from in world. |

Anyway I am not moveing the domain over here, If I bought a single Ip server and get that blacklisted from LindenLabs servers thats the best solution.
But i dont know if GatorHost would let me in this situation. |

Steam,
We deffiniately can work with you here. We can setup your baby or business account on its own dedicated IP. Dedicated IPs are even free on business plans. We take a lot of steps to mitigate attacks, including having 24/7 admins here who actively monitor the servers for issues, a custom firewall, and work with a datacenter that can do router level filtering before the attack even hits our servers. That being said, in some of the worst cases we have been required to null route a domain / IP if the attack is not mitigated and is effecting the rest of the accounts on the server. |
