 I've had my account now since 03 02 2004 and I changed all the accounts I host to ns1.mydomain.com and still nothing comes up live. I have access to the whm but not to cpanel to set up email. Is there something I need to know about the dns and why I can't go live?

Doing a whois check ... they both have different nameserers showing up. Didi you go to the registrar and make the dns change to your dns servers?

You can access your control panel by using the IP address listed in your welcoming email

I just checked to make sure all domains are listed as ns1 serviceplushosting and ns2.serviceplushosting and they are. You were right and I made sure the other accounts on my WHM are changed as well. that dosn't tell me why serviceplushosting.com isn't live since that was correct.

also I got into the cpanel for serviceplushosting.com but the others are still not opening. Any advice or do I need to wait two more days.

Did gator set up your nameservers? You can't do it. They have to and then send you the IP addresses. (If not send an email to supprt asking them to).

Who are you using for a registrar? Did you setup nameservers with them? You will need to enter the IPs that gator gives you there.

Yes gator put it in my welcome email and thats how I got ns1.serviceplushosting.com and ns2.serviceplushosting.com.
Now as far as the register goes that's me, I have an account that registers domains for people. So I made sure all the domains that have anything to do with me have the above nameservers listed.

Forget about your other domains for a moment.

At your registrar, whether it is godaddy, network solutions, or whoever ... did you set up namservers for the "primary" domain? There is a difference is setting DNS for a domain, and actually setting up domain name servers.

And while managing your primary domain at GoDaddy ... you did enter the IPs that gator gave you for namerservers?

Sory for all the minute questions ... but your orginal post did not offer much to analyze.

Look here:

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsre...LUSHOSTING.COM

Look at the nameserver IPs.

Call them up in a browser, the first one goes to another site (?)

The second on appears to go to the cpanel default page.

no problem, I see what your talking about. The main domain is serviceplushosting.com. When I signed on with Hostgator I went to godaddy where that domain was parked and entered the new name servers ns1.serviceplushosting & ns2.serviceplushosting. There was nowher to enter 69.93.59.34 for the first one and 69.93.59.35 for the second one. Did hostgator not do something they should. This is all confusing.

Ahhhh ...now we are there

Go to your domain magagement page at Godaddy.

You'll see the list of domains you have.

Click on the primary one.

Then at the right you'll see the domain details. There is one called "Domain Host Summary"

Click that one to open it up and then click to modify.

Enter your IPs there.

Then wait a couple of days or so for it all to propogate.

Just to be sure .... do NOT change the domain host this way on any of your other domains. Just the primary that has nameservers attached.

In WHM, when you create packages ... you'll see a dropdown for cPanel theme. Don't ask me what they all mean ... I don't know ... I've just left all mine (over 50 domains) on the 'default'. Seems to work fine .. but then again, I'm not using any special features others may offer yet.
