Domain Transfer - possible expiration issue

I am transferring my domain to Host Gator (already have done so). However, my existing registration is set to expire on 4/12/09. Will the transfer occur in time? I just got the transfer request email earlier this morning.

I suggest you email sales at hostgator dot com or give them a call.

Followup: I received a closure e-mail on the domain transfer request. I also spoke with someone in sales that indicated that I should see the transfer in 12 to 24 hours. I'll post back here again if this doesn't happen.

I probably should not have cut this so close.
