Default Domain

Hello, I have a Swamp package but can't post in the forum yet.

Is it possible to point a domain that I registered somewhere else to Host Gator's DNS servers so that I can use it with my web server?

Yes, you only need to change the nameservers at the registrar of your domain to the ones that were given to you in the email with your access information.

You would need to change the nameservers at the registrar of the domain. If you provide the domain name we may be able to provide more specific answers.

wait sometimefor the new nameservers to propogate, once this is complete your site would be running from hostgator server and you can login to cpanel or FTP to upload your content.

Your welcome email from HG, the one with the nameservers to use, should also contain instructions to log into cPanel before the domain propagates. That way, you can start on your site stuff.

However, depending on the domain registrar, propagation can be very fast, particularly if the domain has not been hosted anywhere before HG.

Yes, after you change the nameservers with your registrar, you can make the webites Add-on domains in cPanel
