Default Domain - set a home directory

hell

I have one domain and I would like to create a new directory - lets say TEST.

Now I would like to know how I can set the new path to that directory in , I guess, in cpanel. So when somebody enters the domain.com the index in the new directory is executed.

Can somebody help, please? (Hope I described well enough what I want to do).

Thanks,
Kai

If I understood you right then this should work:

1. Go into cPanel then Addon Domains.
2. Type in the name of the domain and fill out everything but where it says "Document Root:" set it to "/public_html/TEST" or replace TEST with the name of the directory.

Thanks - I will try.

And I just wanted to correct the hell to hello (would not want to misunderstood because of such typing mistake).

Is not working.

I typed a new domain name (actually it is the one that I already had) and typed in the new path.

then I got en error msg telling

Addon Domain Additions

There was a problem creating the addondomain. Show Details
Sorry, you are not allowed to add any more than (0) addon domains! The domain below was not setup!

I never thought it be so complicated...

Thanks for advice

You must be on the Hatchling hosting plan, to do this you need to upgrade to at least the baby hosting plan.

I forgot: I have a dedicated Pro Server - normally it should work, or?

you need to EDIT the package you created for this domain name from WHM, and give a value more than "0" to the Add on domains.

And if i didn't mis-read your 1st post u want to have your main domain start showing content from a sub directory instead of "public_html" folder

if this is what you want, you can set up re-direction for your domain from cpanel and enter path to destination.
See the tutorial on Redirecting a URL

Thanks,

that seemed to help a bit. The only problem left is, that i am told that I can not "park a main domain".

now I really do not know what to do...

I also modified the account in that way that I setup up to 20 allowed parked domains.

if you have created a seperate hosting account from WHM for the required domain you don't need to have it in Add on domain list.
just set up the re-direction for the main URL and you are through.
