Arrow domain reseller account

Hi,

I'm setting up our HG reseller account and want to offer domain registrations at our site.

As per HG we get a free enom reseller account.

http://www.hostgator.com/enomreseller.shtml

Howver, I'm not sure how to set this up. It says "After signing up to get your free enom account please fill out the domain reseller account form. "

Where do I sign up for the free enom acct?

Thanks!

Johan

Sorry, I was confused. I logged into my enom acct but still don't know how to start reselling the domains. Do I send people to a special link? If so, where can I find it?

Thanks!

You will need to get a script that can connect to enoms API.

Depends on the account you signed up for. If you signed up for the standard that requires no deposit, you will need a script that allows users to search for available domains and purchase them. Then you will need to manually register them.

The reseller account that you deposit at least $100 towards domain purchases allows you to use enom's registry rocket to sell domains or you can use a third party script that uses the API to interact with enom.

Thanks for your replies.

I have the standard account. Is the autopilot script good for this?

Thanks again.

Not if you dont upgrade your account with enom.. you cant use the API without the upgrade.

None, enom's API will refuse the connection.. you need to upgrade to use automatic registration

Regards,
You may not want to offer automated domain creation anyway. You'll get orders using bad CCs, and you'll end up having to pay eNom for domains that you get chargebacks for unless you have good fraud protection.

Your best bet, until you're ready to upgrade to the API account, may be to manually register the domains for people. Then in eNom, you can give the domain it's own password, and people will be able to configure all their information themselves if you want...and it won't be branded eNom.

Keep in mind that the API has many uses beyond automatic registration. It also allows the use of a third party management so you can choose from there when to register a domain after it is ordered without going to enom.com and doing so manually. It will pass all the information on.

Also allows the use of a 3rd party domain management system for you and/or your customers that may or may not be integrated into your billing/client system.

You also gain the header on the whois for your company name in place of Hostgator!

While we started with the standard account, it didn't take long to realize it was a bad choice. The whois info was enough to be a deciding factor alone.

I agree with that...I don't use the API but upgraded for that reason.

Yes I was quite troubled to see domains we registered as a hosting company to have: registered by Hostgator.com in the whois

Nice to have it replaced by our company name now
