Default Domain not populating

I cannot get this website to populate no matter what I do. I keep getting the search page when I input the address. It has been 2 days and all systems shows that it is good to go. Any help would be appreciated.

Your DNS servers are wrong. You need to contact support and find out what they should be. It should have been in the email they sent you when your account was activated.

I checked the DNS servers and they are correct as far as I can see. I went through my ftp like normal and everything checks out. I can see the preview of the files but when I publish (dreamweaver) I cannot see the pages.

Your domains nameservers are set to:
NS1.HOSTGATOR.COM
NS2.HOSTGATOR.COM

Which is incorrect (ns1&ns2 are for HG's websites).

Look in your welcome email. And it will tell you the nameservers to use.

Thanks Sam. you are correct that is not the right nameserver. But the one I entered into my ftp is the one out of the email. Where do I need to go to change the hostgator nameserver.
Any help would be appreciated.

You don't need to enter the nameserver in FTP--you set it at the domain's registrar to the ones in your welcome email.

Then, take the nameservers out of your FTP program. Use the FTP account info in the cPanel FTP section.

I bought the domain from hostgator as well as hosting it on hostgator. I checked the DNS zone editor and it seems to be the same nameserver that was in the email, which I assume is correct. I know it is something small and simple that I overlooked.......ahhhhhhh!!!!

You should be able to login to https://www.hostgator.com/domains
and change the domains nameservers.

If you're on a windows box, go to network connections, right click your network card, click repair. It'll flush and renew everything.

It works for me now.
