I didn't see Mambo in Fantastico the other day. But I do have it installed on my server. As to if *hostgator* specifically supports it, I'd have to say yes and no.

It's a 3rd party script. If you install it, even using Fantastico, you can't expect Hostgator staff to troubleshoot everything and anything to do with 3rd party scripts they did not personally install for you.

Also NOTE that Fantastico installed scripts do tend to get goofed up in some way or another. If this mambo installation is to be the meat and potatoes of your site I'd highly recommend installing it manually and taking the time (make the effort) to learn all about it. It's not 'easy' but it's not impossible for even a newbie either.

Mambo has some excellent support forums at http://forum.mamboserver.com . You may not get a instant answers to your posts there because it is mostly supported by other members. But there are tons of relevant posts you can find via search. Mambo is very popular and well supported. Lots of add ons.

I use it myself at http://cattery-index.com

mambo seems to be at least in my Fantastico, and it installs version 4.5.2.1, which is not the latest but not old.
I agree with LadyLarke that it's better if you install it by yourself, it's NOT difficult.
Installation instructions you find in http://help.mamboserver.com/

But please whatever you do, use http://www.opensourcematters.com for that is where the core development team is now located for mambo due to miro droping the mambo project.

LONG LIVE MAMBO!

I do not see Mambo in your "fantastico" script list? listed on the front page.

That list seems to be somewhat out of date.

Mambo Open Source is actually on the script list if you sign up
