Dodge completely crashed so we rebooted and it is now getting a fsck. It should come up after fsck has been completed.

Thanks for the status. Any info on what caused the crash would be appreciated. Seems like memory usage and system load is a bit high at times.

We're pretty sure it crashed from needing the fsck to begin with. It died instantly meaning it hit something on the drive needing fsck and went down.

Server load on Dodge is off the chart (between 18 and 28 in the last couple minutes) and none of my websites are responding. Wassup?

Ok, the web server is starting to respond again, but server load is still around 10. Does hostgator monitor server load? If so, could you share the average hourly load on dodge for the past couple months? And at what point do you decide load is too high and take steps to remedy that?
I don't want to add to the load by running a cron job to keep track of the server status if you guys are already taking care of this. Thanks! |
