Default What do you lose when upgrading from reseller to VPS?

Hi, What do you lose configuration-wise when upgrading from reseller to VPS?

Are all accounts/databases/addon domains/ e-mail addresses etc transferred for free when you upgrade from reseller to VPS?

Also - how streamlined is this, is there any downtime to be expected?

Thanks

As long as you buy VPS 3 package Or higher Hostgator can probable move everything for you for free. But I suggest you wait for a staff member reply to this post to be sure..

Provided that you purchase a Level-3 or higher plan WITH cPanel, we can transfer over all user accounts, databases, etc... It would be exactly the same as moving to a dedicated server, however you would not have as many resources available as a dedicated server.
If you are looking to move account types because you need more CPU or memory, you would be best served by moving to a dedicated server. If you are merely looking to move account types because you wish to have more control (i.e. installing ffmpeg, offering different types of scripts that we do not allow on shared machines, etc), then VPS may be a match for you.

Yes, you absolutely can SSH to a VPS. A VPS is, more or less a scaled down dedicated server. Think of it as a single-core CPU dedicated server with limited memory and CPU power and hard disk space. The VPS page on our website specifies what limits you have for your VPS. You do, of course, ultimately share the hardware with other users so your VPS _can_ be affected by other VPS containers, but we take great care to ensure that rarely happens.
