I would like to make a massage website but I don't know if I need more software.
I have a mac and I'm just in the woods. What do I do first? Do I need to learn macromedia for my web pages? |

Sorry, but your question is sort of like someone buying a piece of land, and asking, "How do I build a house?" It's more than anyone could hope to address in a series of forum posts.
To build a web page, you need to learn some HTML and CSS (even if you end up using a web-authoring tool to put the page together). Look for some online tutorials. Then, assuming you don't want to hand-code the whole thing, there are various packages out there that you can use to put the pages together, like Dreamweaver (good, but not free) or WordPress (designed for blogs, but pretty good at building a more generic web page) or Joomla (good, but with a pretty steep learning curve), etc. The list goes on and on. There are site-builder tools available from HG, but they're limited - if you want your site to look different from the templates provided, you'll find it difficult to do with a canned site-builder program. Don't know where you got any ideas about Macromedia. Building a Flash site is a different kettle of fish entirely. I don't think I'd recommend it for a beginner. |

you mean like adult web site? adult is allowed in HG, if you mean message board like phpbb, vbulletin that it is easy, download source code from board sites upload them, and hit install.php on your domain and follow instructions do not learn macromedia flash, start it slow lots of learning ahead and trial and error

NOT "2 days" !!! And this IS a good company, but you posted an unanswerable question in the peer support forum. We are all customers of HostGator just like you, here to help each other. This is not the way to get official assistance from HostGator. Go to a library or do some basic on-line research on your question before asking us to help you. Put at least a little effort into your work instead of asking us to spoon-feed you everything you want to know. |

I'm sure that is what the OP did. In looking at his profile he has not been back since making the second post.

Well .... Happy to know about HG website builder. I am using Macromedia Dreamweaver CS5 which is another good option to build a website.
