I am using PHP with MySQL. My site is a web application which will create a database for each user. Each database may have up to 25 tables. The application uses one main database with 75+ stored procedures. A few of the stored procedures are pretty complex and has many SELECT statements. The stored procedures are fast though. I heard that stored procedures are cpu intensive. I use very little PHP. Also, the application can potentially send out 10 to 1,000 emails per hour. Is the VPS plan right for me or would I be okay with the Business Plan (I need SSL as well). What's going to happen when I get up to 1,000 databases? How would I move from the Business Plan to VPS to Dedicated? Which VPS plan would you recommend? Thanks...

I dont think there is a limit to how many database you can have.
If you get up to 1000 databases, you should be fine, HostGator provides UNLIMITED amount of MySQL Databases. |

If you are sending out 1000 emails per hour then yes you will need a VPS, we do have a limit of 500 email per hour for any Shared/Reseller Account.
To read more information on this you can go here. http://www.hostgator.com/mailpolicy.shtml As far as Databases, on all shared accounts you do get an unlimited number of MySQL databases. |
