How do i edit the main page on my site?

I guess this sounds pretty dumb, but how do i actually edit the main page of my site from the cpanel? I can add new pages but i dont know how to do anything to the main page itself. thanks!

Are you using one of our templates? If so, you will need to open up the page you wish to edit in a text editor (notepad, for example) and manually change the HTML source.

I'm pretty sure, yeah. I really dont know how to use anything in the cpanel. I just signed up under baby croc, and i figured out how to get into the cpanel, but i really don't know how to manage anything or what I'm doing in general. Is there any tutorial that explains the basic stuff so i dont have to ask questions here?
