Have just signed up and received my welcome email. however, need to point a domain name at the webspace. The company I bought it from needs the following info:

MX Records
Point to Easily ServersPoint to address below

Set drop down menu to 'Point to address below'. Enter mail server and priority value (0-99). If you do not know the priority value, leave blank, we will default it to 15. If you have more than one mail server of the same priority, this will 'load balance' the servers. On completion, hit 'Save'

ANAME Records
Point to Easily ServersUse

Set drop down menu to 'Use IP address below'. Enter required IP number. On completion, hit 'Save'.

Could anyone tell me what I should put in each?

Also, i have ftp'd up an index page but, when i go to the site via the ip address, i still see the generi page. Is this correct?

They do not need that unless you are doing something special. All they would need are the 2 name servers provided in the email.
